Maui Whale Watching and Ocean Tours
Throughout the winter months, the waters around Maui are home to the majestic
humpback whale. Our journey takes us right through the waters of the Hawaiian
Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, which was designated because
this area is an important mating and calving ground for the endangered
humpbacks.
Maui Whale Watching and Ocean Tours
- Trilogy Excursions -
Now I realize that being the oldest sailing company on Maui (since
1973) doesn't automatically make us the best. Or the fact that
Trilogy was the first activity company in Hawaii to receive the
coveted Pookela Award for customer service (1999). And, even though
an independent survey of over 11,000 Maui visitors (Maui's Top 10)
chose Trilogy the #1 sailing company and the #1 Activity on Maui, we
still feel it is important to earn our reputation the old fashion
way - one guest at a time! Our goal is to make you feel like family.
Perhaps that's why so many of our guests return year after year. I
guess you could say that sailing with us is like coming home!
- Pride of Maui - The
Pride of Maui is famous for it's stability and speed. She has been
servicing Maui residents and locals for over 8 years! The average
trip to Molokini only takes about 45 minutes, which allows for more
fun time in the water and TWO destinations. Cruise to our premiere
destinations in style and comfort; unlike a lot of other vessels,
you can freely walk around and enjoy the scenery. Our two premiere
Maui destinations are Molokini and Turtle Town.
- Pacific Whale Foundation
- A pioneer in whale research and the first organization to offer
educational whalewatches on Maui, Pacific Whale Foundation is proud
to offer Maui’s top-rated humpback whalewatch, based on our 24 years
of work in saving whales from extinction. Our cruises take place
daily from December 1 through May 15.
- Ocean Riders - See
and hear the whales aboard Ocean Riders ultra modern 28 foot HBI -
the only one in the state of Hawaii. We get you to where the whales
are quickly with our smooth riding state of the art craft. With our
hydrophones, you're able to hear the humpbacks sing! The captain
narrates the trip with up to date info from the Center of Whale
Studies.
- Molokai Ferry - Daily
Ferry Service Between Maui and Molokai on the Maui Princess and
Molokai Princess With over 30 years experience on the waters of
Hawaii, we are the cruise activity authority.
- Lanai Ferry - For over 10
years EXPEDITIONS has been providing the most reliable, affordable
transportation between the islands of Maui and Lana`i. Local
residents and visitors alike enjoy their short trip across the Auau
Channel aboard Expeditions fast, United States Coast Guard certified
vessels. Aboard Expeditions you'll enjoy spectacular views of Maui
County, including the islands of Maui, Lana`i, Moloka`i and
Kaho`olawe. On a clear day you may even see the Big Island of
Hawai`i, and during the season (January - April) you'll marvel at
the record number of Humpback whales we share the ocean with during
our voyage.

rises halfway out of the water, then falls back and swims just
underneath our small boat and surfaces in the other side during our
Hawaii whale watching cruise.

Video - Listen to male humpback whales squeal, grunt, whistle
and sing as we sit in our rubber raft using an underwater
microphone.
